SEND EFFECTS
"The following plugins (Reverb and Delay) are on seperate sends and are mixed in depending on the vibe of the song."
1. Valhalla VintageVerb
"Valhalla Vintage Verb is my go-to reverb. It sounds great, is quick to dial in, and is also very efficient on the CPU, making it perfect for any project."
"Valhalla Delay is a versatile tool, allowing for different time signatures on various send channels, such as quarter notes or eighth notes. One of its standout features is the 'ducking' mode, which activates the delay only when the vocals aren't singing (if set to 100% wet). This ensures the vocals remain clear while the delay creates a massive impact during the breaks."
"The last send channel is actually a combination of multiple FX plugins. I use this channel very subtly to make the vocals sound wide, thick, and full, creating an interesting texture rather than just doubling, especially for verses."
3. Little AlterBoy
"Alter Boy is a powerful tool that reduces the formants to create a 'treated' sound, making it perfect for dark music or dance music. By altering the vocal characteristics, it adds a unique and compelling edge to the mix, enhancing the overall mood and atmosphere of the track. I follow it up with a de-esser to completely get rid of any sibilance."
